Watch the full workflow: FairPick + FairTrak + StockTrak in 4 minutes

February 2026 — A listeria-linked frozen fruit recall affecting multiple retail brands has put field-to-freezer traceability at the top of every processor's agenda. The companies that can trace a lot back to the field in minutes — not days — are the ones keeping their customers. FDA Recall Alerts

StockTrak is built for FSMA 204 (FDA Food Traceability Rule) and SFCR (Safe Food for Canadians Regulations). Lot-level traceability from field to customer, with 24-hour traceback capability and complete chain-of-custody records that satisfy both U.S. and Canadian regulatory requirements.

    Recall Scenario

FSMA 204 requires traceback to the source within 24 hours. Without digital traceability, a contamination event means pulling everything from the affected period — averaging $10M in direct costs and up to 10× more in brand damage. See how lot-level traceability narrows the scope to exactly the affected product.

    How Julian Date Barcodes Work

Every bin barcode encodes a 5-digit Julian date — the first two digits are the year, the last three are the day of the year. For example, 26182 = 2026, day 182 = July 1. This links every barcode to a specific receiving date, making it impossible for time to blur the chain of custody. Even years after processing, any barcode can be decoded back to the exact arrival date.

    Two ways to start

StockTrak delivers FSMA-compliant traceability on its own. Add FairPick and FairTrak to extend visibility all the way to the picker and the field.

    StockTrak

Traceability from receiving dock to customer. Assigns lot codes at packing, tracks cold storage, links pallets to trucks, and generates the chain-of-custody audit trail that satisfies FSMA 204 and SFCR. Traces any lot back to the grower and delivery date — no additional hardware required.

    Extend to the field

Add FairPick and FairTrak to push traceability past the receiving dock — all the way to who picked, which block, GPS coordinates, and certified weights. You'll see exactly how much volume is coming from which fields, which crews are most productive, and have picker-level audit trails that anchor the chain of custody at the source.
