Why growers are replacing punch cards
Punch cards → RFID badges
Sturdy RFID cards replace flimsy punch cards. No more illegible tickets, lost cards, or puncher bottlenecks holding up the crew.
Bucket estimates → Scale data
Stop overpaying. One grower discovered $20,000/week in overpayments because estimated blueberry bucket weights exceeded actual warehouse weights by 40,000 pounds.
Hand-counting → Payroll exports
Eliminate hours of manual data entry. Harvest data flows directly into ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks, or your payroll system with one click.

From field to processor
Every FairPick weigh event creates a digital identity for the harvest—picker, weight, GPS location, time, block, and container. When those bins arrive at a processor running StockTrak, that identity carries forward through receiving, production runs, packing, and shipment.
The result is a complete chain of custody from field to customer—the traceability backbone that FSMA requires and that food safety auditors expect.
Where FairPick™ fits in your operation
FairPick is the data capture layer for harvest operations—every pick recorded with weight, time, location, and picker ID.
Capture harvest data
FairPick records every pick with weight, time, location, and picker ID. FairTrak adds GPS crew and equipment tracking.
Receiving through shipment
StockTrak carries harvest identity forward—bin receiving, production runs, packing, cold storage, and pallet-to-truck shipment with barcode- and RFID-linked audit trails.

Frequently asked questions
What is NTEP certification and why does it matter?
NTEP (National Type Evaluation Program) certification means FairPick has been tested and approved by the National Conference on Weights and Measures for legal-for-trade weighing. This ensures your piece-rate calculations are accurate and legally defensible—critical for fair pay and compliance.
What crops does FairPick work with?
FairPick is designed for any piece-rate harvested crop including berries, tree fruit, grapes, vegetables, and more. We configure the system for your specific units (pounds, flats, bins, etc.).
Does it work without cell service?
Yes. The mobile app stores data locally and syncs automatically when connectivity is restored. Your harvest data is never lost.
How do pickers get their receipts?
Portable thermal printers produce receipts immediately after each weigh-in. Pickers get a record of every pick with their ID, weight, time, and calculated piece-rate.
Can I use our existing scales?
In some cases, yes. We support integration with many commercial scale models. However, for NTEP compliance, the scale must meet certification requirements. Contact us to confirm compatibility with your equipment.
What happens to our historical data?
All data is stored securely in the cloud. You maintain access to historical records for compliance, audits, and season-over-season analysis.
How does FairPick replace punch cards?
Workers scan a sturdy RFID badge card instead of carrying flimsy paper punch cards. Every pick is recorded digitally with exact weight, time, and location—no more illegible tickets, lost cards, or puncher bottlenecks holding up the crew. Data uploads wirelessly and flows directly into payroll reports.
Can FairPick help with produce traceability and food safety?
Yes. Every weigh event records who picked, when, where (GPS), and optionally which container (via RFID tags on buckets, totes, or bins). This creates a complete chain of custody from field to cooler. When bins arrive at a processor running StockTrak, that harvest identity carries forward through receiving, production runs, packing, and shipment—critical for FSMA compliance and food safety tracebacks.
Does FairPick support Spanish and Portuguese?
Yes. The scale station provides voice commands and on-screen prompts in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. Workers hear clear audio instructions in their preferred language—important for H-2A crews and multilingual harvest teams.
How does FairPick prevent overpayment?
By replacing estimated bucket weights with certified scale measurements. One grower discovered $20,000 per week in overpayments because estimated blueberry bucket weights exceeded actual warehouse weights by 40,000 pounds. FairPick records the exact weight of every pick—fair pay for growers and pickers alike.
