For Breeders & Nurseries
Variety & batch traceability that survives the real world
Tracking genetics, tissue culture, and nursery inventory requires specialized tools. We've built solutions specifically for breeding programs and nursery operations.
What you get
True chain of custody
Every batch, every movement, every decision—documented and connected.
Defensible traceability
Audit-ready records that hold up under scrutiny.
A feedback loop back into selection
Field performance data — when available — informs future breeding decisions.
Core modules
Tissue Culture & Early-Stage Tracking
Digital IDs from day one. Complete propagation history tied to genetic source.
Nursery Operations
Movement, losses, distribution, and inventory accuracy—all tracked with chain of custody intact.
Field Deployment & Phenotyping
Plantings linked to batch and genetic line. Phenotypic observations tied to measurable outcomes.
Digital Phenotyping (Green Atlas)
LiDAR-based canopy measurement at the individual plant level. Objective, repeatable trait data for canopy architecture, bloom load, and fruit set across varieties and environments.
Our breeding program tools focus on conventional and marker-assisted selection. We do not support or track transgenic (GMO) development.
Digital phenotyping at commercial scale
Traditional phenotyping relies on visual scoring — subjective, labor-intensive, and difficult to replicate across sites or seasons. Green Atlas brings LiDAR-based structural measurement to breeding programs, enabling objective trait comparison at the resolution breeding decisions require. Founded by PhDs from the University of Sydney's Australian Centre for Field Robotics, Green Atlas is backed by peer-reviewed research and validated across 15+ crops globally.
Objective trait measurement
Canopy architecture, bloom density, fruit set, fruit size, and vigor are measured with sub-plant precision — not estimated. The Cartographer captures millions of LiDAR points per tree with fruit count accuracy typically within 5%. Data is comparable across plots, locations, and years, supporting the replication that sound selection demands. Oregon State University uses Green Atlas for blueberry mapping research.
From genetics to field performance
When phenotyping data is combined with harvest records from FairPick and yield models from Bitwise GreenView, the result is a quantitative feedback loop — connecting genetic selection to real-world commercial outcomes across environments. Measure from bud stage through bloom, fruit set, sizing, and color development to harvest.
Scalable and repeatable
The Cartographer mounts on a side-by-side, ATV, or autonomous Burro robot and scans at normal driving speed. A seasonal lease model means breeding programs can deploy measurement capability without capital equipment purchases, scaling coverage to match trial scope. Patented strobe lighting works in any condition — shade, direct sun, or night.
Part of a broader data ecosystem
innov8.ag's broader vision is unlocking insight from passively collected farm data. Phenotyping is one layer — connected to weather, soil, harvest, and inventory data that together tell the full story of variety performance. Green Atlas has been an integral part of Smart Orchard since its inception — innov8.ag alone has collected over 2 petabytes of scan data — and is actively used by leading-edge growers and breeders who treat gold-standard structural data as the baseline for actionable insights.
Who this is built for
For Breeders
Track lines from early selection through commercial deployment. Measure yield and quality outcomes tied directly to breeding decisions.
For Nurseries
Complete chain of custody through propagation, growing, and distribution. Know where every batch came from and where it went.
For Commercial Farms
Understand the genetic background of your plantings. Connect variety performance to sourcing decisions for better planting investments.
The feedback loop
When field performance data is available, it flows back to inform future selections.
Our genetics tracking is built in collaboration with university breeding programs, designed to carry research-grade rigor into commercial operations.
